What this tool does

HEIC to PDF turns a set of phone photos into one document in the order you choose: pick the photos, reorder them with the arrow buttons, set the page size, orientation, margin and fit, and create the PDF. It suits a stack of receipts, a multi-page form photographed page by page, or a handful of pictures that must travel as a single attachment. Each file becomes one page; a file with several images contributes only its main picture.

There are two ways images are stored. By default each page is a JPEG at the quality you set (40–100, default 85), which keeps the PDF small. With Lossless on, the decoded pixels are written directly into the PDF with no JPEG step. On three test photos (two 600×400 and one 741×500, 407 KB of HEIC in total) the default produced a 181 KB PDF and Lossless a 1.1 MB one. Both stored the pictures at full pixel size; Lossless also bypasses the browser canvas, so it does not hit the iPhone/iPad size cap.

This is a photo-to-PDF tool, not a scanner. It does not crop, straighten, whiten paper or recognise text, so a photographed document is only as legible as the photograph, and the PDF has no searchable text. Page size is fixed to A4, US Letter or the image's own size. If one photo cannot be read, the tool names the file and offers to skip it or remove it from the list instead of failing without explanation.

How to use it

  1. 01

    Add the photos

Drop the HEIC files or choose them. The list shows 'N pages' and the total size, and notes that the order matches the PDF page order.

  2. 02

    Put the pages in order

Use the up and down arrows on each row to reorder, and the bin icon to remove a photo. The first file also names the PDF (for example coffee-collection.pdf).

  3. 03

    Set the page

Choose Page size (A4, US Letter, Match image size), Orientation (Automatic follows each photo, or force portrait or landscape), Margin (None, Small about 6 mm, Medium about 13 mm, Large about 19 mm) and Image fit (Fit keeps the aspect ratio, Fill stretches to the page).

  4. 04

    Choose image quality

Leave Lossless (PNG pages) off and set the JPEG quality for a compact PDF, or switch it on for exact pixels and a much larger file.

  5. 05

    Create the PDF

Press Create PDF. If a file fails, the message names it and offers Skip this file and create the PDF or Remove it from the list.

When to use it

Receipts and paperwork photographed on a phone

Several photos become one attachment for an expense claim or a form, in the order a reviewer expects.

A small album to send or print

A4 or Letter pages with a margin print cleanly, and the recipient needs nothing that reads HEIC.

Full-size pages for archiving

With Lossless on and Match image size, each page holds the whole photograph without recompression.

Good to know

  • 01No OCR, cropping, perspective correction or contrast clean-up. Photographed paper stays a photograph.
  • 02One image per page, and pages are as many as files (up to 50 files and 500 MB per PDF). The whole PDF is built in memory, so large sets of big photos can be slow on a phone.
  • 03Match image size makes each page as many points as the photo has pixels (plus margins), at 72 points to the inch. A 4032×3024 photo becomes a page of roughly 56×42 inches, which prints scaled down. Pick A4 or Letter for printable documents.
  • 04Fill stretches the photo to the page and distorts it unless the aspect ratios happen to match. Fit is the safe default.
  • 05Transparency: in both modes transparent areas of a HEIC are composited onto white, because neither JPEG nor the PDF pages carry an alpha channel.
  • 06No photo metadata is copied into the PDF, and it has no title, author or searchable text; its properties name only pdf-lib, the library that built it.

Technical notes

Privacy and limits

Your file stays on your device

This tool runs in your browser with WebAssembly. The file is read into the tab, processed there and discarded when you close it — there is no upload and no account. You can check this yourself in your browser's network panel, and the privacy page lists what analytics does and does not receive.

Limits and checks

Up to 100 MB and 100 megapixels per file; batches of up to 50 files and 500 MB. Files are treated as untrusted input and every output is re-opened and validated before it is offered — see how we handle untrusted files.
